The Financial Woman Savvy Smart Style Tip for this week is a lifestyle tip, and it’s absolutely free! Well, it does involve some gas for your car, which we all know is not cheap given the run up in the price of crude oil. But it’ almost free…
Last week I was headed to the Round Top Antique market to do some Savvy Smart Style videos. It was one of those perfectly gorgeous days without a cloud in the crisp blue sky. I was taking in the tranquil beauty of the rolling hills among the vast open ranches and farm lands outside of Austin.
Ideas for all areas of my life were surfacing faster than I could process them, because my mind was free and open. I suddenly had crystal clear vision about some Financial Woman courses I am developing, as well as insights about personal relationships and issues that needed resolution. Have you had this experience while on a road trip?
Next, the ultimate happened which totally solidified a thought that maybe this experience should become a savvy smart lifestyle tip: Louis Armstrong’s voice singing “What a Wonderful World” came blasting across my speakers. (You already know that I had them turned way up on my favorite oldies station so I could sing and rock out while driving…do you do that when you drive alone?)
This lifestyle tip may seem unrelated to being a Financial Woman, but isn’t it about more than money? Isn’t it about creating a rich life full of experiences that we value? (Being free is icing on the cake!) This is especially true of those experiences that call us to leave our daily routines and beckon us to grow and expand. These are the experiences that call us to create that extra stream of income, or let go of those things that cost us money, but don’t really matter. And this takes us right back to living a life with a focus on taking steps to reach our financial goals so we can have or do those things that really matter.
So, here it is: A quick, almost free, possibly inspiring and immediately gratifying experience that needs NO advance planning, NO technology, and NO reservations or deposits. Take to the road, girlfriends. Jump in your ride, think of the prettiest stretch of road in your area, turn UP the radio, and drive. And, oh, don’t forget to sing. Who knows, you may even get some awesome insights on ways to make a rich life!
