As previously written in one of my blogs, quarterly and semi annual reports are useful for keeping up with the overall markets, as well as spotting trends in the making. Follow this link to a Smart Money article that does just this. Despite the recent market turmoil, as always, there are some areas that have performed well during the first two quarters of the year. Latin America funds, for example, gained 4.7%. Of course, the energy and commodities sectors have been in a strong upward trend for years, and continued to perform well. Interestingly, the small capitalization stocks performed better in the second quarter than the first quarter, hinting at a possible return to this previously unfavorable arena.
