Don’t you love it when the weather forecast says that it is going to be yucky and it turns out pretty? It is like a little unexpected present from Mother Nature herself! That is exactly what happened to me today in Austin.

I was finishing up my investing course that I have been creating for several months this morning. Ideas popped into my head so I got up early to get started after checking the day’s weather forecast . I thought to myself “Perfect! It will be stormy all day! I can finish up my course without the thought of golf popping into my mind.” When the sun peaked out around noon, I thought “I better get out there before the clouds return.” And guess where I am right now, four hours later? I’m on my patio enjoying the beautiful day while typing an investing course on my laptop.
The point of my story is trade-offs. Isn’t life full of trade-offs? What trade-off do you need to make to get more involved with your investing? Is it trading an hour of your favorite TV show for half an hour of reading a weekly financial paper or newsletter? Perhaps it is cutting out just a little shopping or tweeting to carve an hour twice a month? In a few weeks, I am excited to say that one of your options will be to listen to my investing course while you are commuting or exercising. (I confess, I am still a multi-tasker!)
Think about whether or not your wealth management is important. My guess is that you will decide that it is since it provides pretty much every tangible in your life. Then find some time to get involved and become more empowered around your financial investing. Enjoy the weekend! I’m off to play 9 holes!
